Zilla thermostat on 11 inch heat tape???

Has anyone used the Zilla brand thermostat on 11 inch heat tape? I have a 41 qt. tub rack im setting up and have a zilla on hand. Just wondering how this will work with the heat tape? Any help will be appreciated.

Terrible, I sent it back to Amazon 3 days after using it. If the temps in your house fluctuate at all I suggest a better thermostat. This one is a ton better than the Zilla one and gives you actual number readings, not just colors for you to guess

I've only heard bad things about those thermostats, I wouldn't trust my animals well being to one of those. Do a search on here and you will see other folks with similar opinions. I think one thread even mentioned a fire associated with a zilla thermostat.

I have looked those up on amazon and wondered how they worked. I will try to find something better than the zilla ,
this rack will be holding next seasons breeder females.

I use multiple hydrofarms, and although they aren't as accurate as real thermostats like Herpstat, which I also use, they only vary by a few degrees and for the price...I'd take the hydrofarm over the zilla any day.

Re: Zilla thermostat on 11 inch heat tape???

If there is one place to not go cheap it is the thermostat! If you have to save a little longer then do so. Sorry but this is not only for the safety of your snakes it is also for the safety of your home. I have 3 diferent types of thermostats in my house. I have a herpstat, Helix and 5 Vivarium VE-300's. The VE-300's power my rack systems with 11 inch heat tape. I have no problems with them at all. They have built in alarms which gives me an extra sense of security on my rack systems. I had to save up to get them but I am glad I did. My Hepstat takes care of my two GTP cages and the only problem I have had with it was with the temp probe. That was completely my fault because it got wound up while my adult GTP was roaming. My Helix runs my Juvi racks. I like it, but I do have a Ranco back up just to make sure it doesn't overheat.
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.
