The angle of the tail doesn't give a clear view, but I think it's just the crazy blushing that makes it look different. Most snakes don't have that much blushing crawl down to the tip of the tail, so I can see how it can look like its lacking blood flow.

I can't believe how blushed out she is. Very unique. Possible fader gene in there maybe?

Might have something to do with the editing I did to sharpen the pic. She was also under a very bright light.
I'm pretty sure her tail is fine. The only stuck shed they both had was on their eyes and I took care of that some time ago. The male shed after that and it was a clean shed. The female (in the pix) only shed once since I got her.

Also, I don't know if snakes lose color when they become anemic but me vet commented that she was too pale. Not sure how she came to that determination. Whether it was her coloring on her skin or inside her mouth.

****RANT**** That's not enough close to the reason why everyone is losing the hairs on their heads! It's the fact that it all happened, and was more than likely passed on from snake to snake for who knows how long without showing any symptoms! If I were to post this, I would probably get twice as much as she is getting just because I'm a teen, and personally, it's just an age thing, just like some things are sexist, it's quite disappointing if you ask me.

Yes, you are right. People probably would jump all over you because you are a teen, and I very clearly remember that happening to you, but it is time to let all the drama go and just focus on helping her now.

Definitely a fire. Very clear head spot marker. Fires get better with age. He will lighten up. They're a subtle morph compared to pastels. The fire gene enhances all other morphs when combined.

I have thought of it. There is already a plastic "bridge" that runs down the middle of the top of the tank so the plexiglass will not be directly against the screen. If I end up using the lights I have it is incredibly heavy and I can't see anything squeeze between that and the screen. If I don't use it, then I'll need something like that guard.

I'll ask about the oil on Monday. Not sure if they think this will suffocate the mites or what. But I'll ask about it. I dont want then doing anything that could maje things worse. Thanks!!

While it can suffocate mites and it was a widely used treatment for quite awhile it can cause much more damage. Personally I would urge for a different treatment. The fact that we now know what oil does to their scales now makes it important that we try and use alternative methods like Pam and plain water. I've seen vets still use this method and lots of outdated methods for other things as well, and while I encourage people to trust their vets not all actually care for the animals they treat. They were taught some basic methods and use them. Because of her actual issues ATM though I would definately urge for a different treatment.

I will call in the morning and ask them to please stop using the oil, whether they agree with me or not, I don't care.

So, I went looking for the original picture of her on that hide. Here it is. Doesn't look as blushed out unedited.

oh, and towards the end of this video she strikes out at one of my kids. Didn't know this happened until I watched the video. My kids were being pests and I was busy telling them to stop walking around because I was afraid they were going to accidently kick or bump the tub.

She has beautiful blushing. The best I've seen yet. Blushing on a pastel is where the black fades to that white bleached out color. It's a desirable trait. Her entire back is blushed out compared to snakes with a full black back and dorsal stripe.
