    Refreezing for scenting purpose

So yesterday my most stubborn ball python ate again.. She is a very picky and doesnt like rats.. Usually eats ASF or gerbils when she refuses ASFs..
I planned on giving her the gerbil yesterday, but one other python refused a rat, so I scented it just a bit with a gerbil and she grabbed him in a second..
I dont know when I am going to be able to get another gerbil, so I froze that one.

What I am asking is if its ok to refreeze the gerbil just to use him for scenting the rat next week? I am not even planning to give her the gerbil itself.

Thank you for the answers and suggestions!

Is there anywhere in town you can get a big scoop of dirty gerbil bedding? Thawing a rat in water mixed with the bedding will scent It very nicely with less of a hassle.

Availability of bedding and gerbils is the same, I mean there isnt a place close to me that I can get it from. The next time I am also going to get a few gerbils to keep in the freezer if she starts refusing even scented rats.

I dont think you really need to thaw the gerbil to use it to scent the rat. Couldnt you just thaw the rat, pull the gerbil popscicle outta the freezer, rub the rat on it, then offer the rat and toss the gerbil back in the freezer

yeah I guess I could try that, maybe the smell would get transfered enough for it to work...
