I'm not comfortable with Spiders either, so I can relate.
Yes, the IMG thing is usually random, but it can still make some killer dark snakes.
Fire might be an option. yes there are lots out there that looks just like a normal, but a high quality one is really something, all creamy markings and black/brown base color.
Leopard might be an option for the super busy pattern, most I have seen have unreal patterns.
Of course, being in Canada, you might be reduced to getting whatever you can afford, whether it's what you want or not.
