I feed mine once a week, my snake feeding day is Tuesday. For my male I offer two live critters. He takes small hoppers or large fuzzies.

Anywho, I always offer the prey live, and let it do its thing. Or drop it in a plastic dish for him to find them in. He gets really excited around food time, and starts getting nippy. He's tried to eat my shoe, and my phone before when I let him eat out of his tub.

My female is still young and I feed her every 4 to 5 days and I just put the prey in her tub and let her do the rest.

    I feed live and F/T.

Good input. I love how they freak out around food! Its so entertaining until you pick up the smell of the musk hehe "really not bad." They literally throw throw themselves across the tank lol I tong fed them today the male eat 2 pinkies and the female wanted nothing to do with them im going to let them settle in a little bit before feeding again, i am very happy with these little guys have so much character!

My adullt male eats 1 medium mouse every Sunday night and is fed off of tongs. I tap on the top of his tank and he comes out of hiding and opens his mouth!

Re: How do you feed your hogs.

In my limited experience they do better feeding them twice a week in the beginning especially if your feeding them pinks. I noticed regurge's whenever I fed more than one prey item the same day.

Another observation from my first year with hogs, they really start to pick up weight and size on fuzzy's. I'm finally seeing some big time growth in them, when they were on pinks even two as babies they grew super slow.

Emilio what are your temperatures at? I am 90-92 on one hot 80 on the cool and 75 ambient. I have heard they eat like pigs with hotter temperatures because there metabolism is much higher with the hotter temps. Also less meals more often seems to put less stress on them. This is no means personal experience just good advice from a friend. Whats your guys take on this?

I have them at ambient temps of 82-83 day and 80-81 at night. I will be running my temps at 84-85 soon. No hot spot.
