    I have two tarantulas?!

After having spent FOREVER barricaded in her hide my A. chalcodes finally came out. I had expected her to molt in there because she'd refused food the whole time and been uncharacteristically defensive. Well she came out and there was no molt to be found and she still looked fat and drab. Well a day or so ago she put down a little molt mat behind the hide and I was excited. Yesterday afternoon I saw her on her back and then yesterday evening I had two tarantulas! Hurray for a pretty molt! More pictures to come. I'm excited for the molt because it looks like it's in nice condition. My A. versicolor makes a total mess of his and they've never resembled a tarantula.

Also, every time one molts I'm always worried and watch all nervously. I was wondering if there's anything I can do for them if they're having a bad molt?

I never understood the correlation between people owning snakes and spiders. I love snakes, but spiders give me the creeps! Lol no offense just they are two totally different animals but a lot of snake people seem to love spiders as well, I just don't get it.

Sweet! I heard somewhere that if it's fresh enough you can gently put a cotton ball in the abdomen and pin the legs into whatever position. Looks really neat in a plastic acrylic case.

I'd -highly- recommend the Tarantula Keepers Guide by the Schultz's. It's chock full of good info and written in a way that it made me feel like I was just reading forum posts from well informed hobby members. They've got a section all about moulting and some possibilities of action if it goes badly

I actually love spiders and other arachnids. I love watching them but i have no interest in touching/holding them. So T's are a no-go for me too lol. I would consider a scorpion though. Or a praying mantis. But i still like watching spiders the most
Oh ya also my stepdad and brother are big babies and afraid of spiders so im not allowed to own any while i live here haha

Nice,I always watch them in awe.I wish I can get new fresh skin. If they are having a bad molt is say to raise the humidity.keep your parameters up and you shouldn't have to worry about it.
    Purrty t by the way.
