Put on some heat shrink stuff. Then connect the two. Red to red. Black to black. Put some electrical tape over each connection, then use the heat shrink. Then wrap it all in electrical tape.



Mount the fan, plug it in and you're good to go! It's really easy and I'm sure most people have at least one old cell charger laying around...
How do you know that the plug you are using is even compatible with the fan you have chosen? I willing to bet you have not matched up the voltage on the fan and the plug. That is a no no and can cause fires.
