Wondering if this is too skinny
Hi, I'm a first time ball python owner who's trying to do some decent research before purchasing any animal, I started another thread about one that I am interested in buying and it's specific morph, and some comments about how due to the wonderful forum here I believe it to be healthy (no respiratory issues). However I've also been told that it's a bit on the skinny, and that it might have been power fed.

Thank you all for your time.

Re: Wondering if this is too skinny
Pictures aren't great, but it doesn't look too skinny...and I'm not getting the correlation between possibly too skinny and possibly powerfed.

Re: Wondering if this is too skinny
Sorry about that let me clarify, someone else I had showed the pictures to said he looked a little on the skinny side, and made some mention of power feeding. I'm not entirely sure what the latter is.

Re: Wondering if this is too skinny
Power feeding is feeding a snake on a very rigorous diet in order to get it up to breeding weight as early as possible. Snakes do best on a moderately slow diet (for ball pythons one meal every 1-2 weeks, depending on age, is plenty) and power fed snakes are generally obese and have significantly shortened lifespans. It's a horrible thing to do to an animal.
Based on the pictures he doesn't look underweight or power fed to me.

Weight wise, that snake looks just fine.
