Heating?
Well I woke up 30 mins ago and went and checked on my red tail and her tub is cold. thermometer says 67 degrees and it turns out the UTH (ive had for 2 years) I guess quit working. I tried everything and still no power to it SO i got it off right away. Now, I have a petsmart near me that sells an exo-terra UTH for $30 but the reviews aren't so hot.( apparently even when controlled with T-stat it only gets warm? Idk) I need to get her a heat source now though. Can this flexxwatt that everyone uses be purchased in a store? If so, where? Or is there a better place to find a UTH? I appreciate any info I get, as usual so thanks in advance.

I would get yourself some flexwatt from reptilebasics.com
You can use it with whatever tstat you have now no problem.

If you are going to get a cheap thermostat you are better off with a lamp dimmer IMO-they won't fail and fry your snakes. That's just my opinion of course. I wouldn't get anything cheaper than a Johnson or a Rancho.

The exoterra comes in rainforest and desert the rainforest is not meant to get as hot in my experience it maxes out around 88-95º the desert maxes out at 170-190º it works perfectly with a t-stat it is not my fav but works IMO leaving a snake with out heat while you order flexwatt is not a good idea. Get the exoterra now and if you want to replace it later then order something else. Flexwatt does not stick to tubs so gravity pulls the centre down I would not recommend it for a direct contact to an enclosure. Every time I have tried I got very uneven temps. A rack yup but not a single tub.
