When you say you got rat pups, define "pups". People have a lot of different definitions of pups. A "pup", at least around here, is a rat that is about 3 weeks old. Their eyes are open and they are mobile but they aren't quite weaned yet. They are usually in the 20-25g range, which would be ideal for a 165g ball. Some people consider fuzzies and even pinks to be pups, which would be far too small for your snake. Since you inquired, 165g is pretty small for a 6 month old to be perfectly honest. Most of ours are at least in the 300-400g range by that age. With that, a missed meal isn't anything to be concerned about.

Here is a 25g rat which would be a decent sized meal that would equal roughly 15% of your snake's body weight.

Yup. For the first year or so I keep ours on a 5 day schedule.
