Always wondered this... How do you get mom away from the eggs with out getting bit or disturbing the eggs?

All I had to do was lift her off. She was cranky, but not biting cranky. The eggs stick together.

Oh ok that makes sense about the substrate. I wasnt trying to question your methods btw, just curious.
Is it bad for newspaper to stick to them...? I cant imagine a little bit would hurt them that much.

my guess would be it would cause mold maybe? im not sure.

Congrats. What was the pairing? She's a beautiful girl and you'd be cranky too if you just dumped a bunch of younguns out and someone was trying to move you. LOL (being a female i sympathize with her attitude)

Pairing was Mojave to normal. I also put my firefly in the day before she Ovy'ed, but I don't think he did anything.
I actually had the paper in her cage, but she hid under it to lay her eggs, so I took it out this morning. Now she is back on paper.
