Incubator Temps

I have my incubator set up. I have the thermostat probe outside of the eggbox and the accurite inside the eggbox. The thermostat is set at 89 and the accurite inside the eggbox is reading 91 degrees. Is this normal? I will be placing a fan in the incubator to see if that helps.

Its a 48qt cooler set up with 1 foot of flexwatt, water bottles and a helix thermostat.

The accurite isn't the most accurate, despite the name. I'd go with the probe temp if you have an accurate thermostat. The inside of the eggbox should be close to the temps outside until they get ready to hatch, then the eggs will warm up quite a bit on their own.

Thks.. When I setup the incubator i had both probes in the eggbox. They were both at the set temp (89) and the accuirte would be about .5 degrees hotter at times. I had read that the thermostat probe should be outside of the eggbox. I still have a month to mess with it. Do you recomend i put both probes in the eggbox?

I never keep a thermostat probe in with eggs, if you want to do a dummy tub that works well, otherwise the thermostat probe should be in the incubator itself, not in a tub.
