Exclamation Pretty worried about this first shed

I have a one year old male yellow belly ball. I have only had him for two weeks now and he is my first snake. When i first got him he was chill and calm but since i noticed he has started his shed he has been hiding allot and trying to strike for no reason at all. Also another thing i'm worried about is i fed him last Monday and he has not yet had a bowel movement. Is this normal for a shed? ive read that a full digest takes about 2 days. I hope this is just a phase as he is shedding, i know it is a stressful time, but im not so keen on him striking so much. Any info would be apprechiated

Some BPs won't poop for weeks...I wouldn't worry about him not pooping. When he's ready his rear end will get swollen-looking, but usually you'll just find a nice poop somewhere when you don't expect it.

Was/is he blued over when he was striking? It's not uncommon for snakes to get testy/defensive when they're in blue: they can't see as well! So once he sheds he should go back to normal. I wouldn't mess with him when he's in blue: just leave him be. No worries.

Clean his tank. He should poo the next day! Lol. Maybe a bit inside for you still. Don't worry about poo. It will come out when it needs to. Its usually when you don't want it to, like after you've cleaned his tank. As for shed. I never hold a snake in shed unless I have to. They shed the outer layer of their eye and when the layer is starting to come off the new layer, their eyes look greyey blueish. This is called "in blue" like daybreaker said. They can't see bery well in their sahed cycles and I imagine that it probly itches too. If you were itchy and couldn't see, you would probly want to be left alone right? After he sheds he should be back to normal. I've also noticed my snakes poo right after shedding too so maybe that will happen for you too. Hope this helps.
