First shed , not good
Hi , Bertha's first shed didnt go too well , on Thursday I noticed she started rubbing off the shed , it was coming off in pieces that I found in the hot hide , so I gave her a couple of days to see how it panned out , today I followed the " poor shed " sticky and it was 100% successfull , eye caps and all !
So this afternoon I re worked her tank by adding another UTH controlled by a thermostat and put a extra water dish over the UTH and will switch it for a humid hide when the next shed starts .
Tomorrow we will be trying her with her first f/t small rat , hope that goes well too .

Re: First shed , not good
Yeah count us as another of those with a bad first shed. The sticky here on bad sheds saved me. I thought for sure as bad as it looked we would need 2-3 soaks, but after following the advice here it worked the first time like a charm.
The only thing I would add is if it's as bad as ours and you need to roll off the shed, make sure you roll a little and then tear that part that is the roll. Otherwise you hit scales that are tougher and need more "pulling " or pressure and it's much easier if you don't have a big roll of thick skin to tug on your BP.

When she was soaking the remainder came off in one piece all by herself , I took it as a indication the set up was not correct so I hope by next time the changes I made help , fingers crossed ....
