When to expect 2012 hatclings to go on sale

Hey guys, totally new to ball pythons and this might be a really dumb quesiton. Have everything set up, just wating to get a baby normal or possible morph hatchling soon. I was planning on heading to a reptile show this weekend on 4-14. Just wondering if breeders will have 2012 hatchlings for sale or is that possibly to soon. I know nothing of breeding or what months they usually hatch. It is a long drive to the show and just wondering if I should wait for next month. Thanks all.

Are you dead set on a 2012? There are still plenty of late 2011's still available.

They're available year round...it's always a good idea to look up show info and find out who is vending and what. That alone can be an indicator of how the ball python selection will be.

Cool thanks guys, I couldnt find any vendor info but sounds like I shouldnt have a problem finding one. I am not dead set on 2012 babies, but I just have a smaller tank 20 gal long, and didnt wanting anything to big or for it to outgrow it quickly.

A 20L is too big for a hatchling unless you really pack it full of places to hide in order to make the tiny baby feel secure. I think I saw your setup though in another thread and it looked pretty good. It will also be plenty big enough for at least a year if not longer. Depends how quick your new baby grows.

Just want to echo the general response. There will always be baby ball pythons! Congrats on being prepared! Can't wait to see pictures of your new pickup! If I were in your shoes, I'd grab a female . By the time she's old enough, you'll probably have 5 more ball pythons, and an itch to breed

Thanks for answering my questions everyone. Well we finally got our new addition. Normal female ball 100 percent het albino. I put pics in a thread on the general BP board. So I did take your advice on getting the female but def dont have any plans on breeding actually, she was just a really good looking snake. What scares me is that you all say I should prepare myself for more snakes lol. Is this an addiction, what have I got myself into j/k.
