when i graduate high school i want to move to a different state i was thinking florida colorado texas or california i want a place that is warm and dont have a lot of major reptile laws which state would best fit what i want btw i live in waynesboro pa

I live in Florida and wouldn't live anywhere else. There are some laws here in Florida, but most are reasonable (needing permits vs. outright bans) I have lived up north (Ohio) and know that I don't ever want to go back.

It would depend on the species that you want to have, I live in Denver CO and to my knowledge we don't really have any state laws prohibiting reptiles. I could be wrong of course but again it would depend on what species you want and the specific state laws.

Sadly I'm stuck here for another 3-4 years, and in that amount of time the legislation will probably be drastically different, but I've been looking into moving to one of the warmer states as well. I must be coldblooded... anything under 70 is TOO COLD!

yea you can say that again i am only in 7 grade going into 8 grade you are in lancaster i am in waynesboro hopefully i can breed reptiles and get a job and save up for a cheap appartment somewhere but as long as it allows reptiles

I live in CA and wouldn't move away. I don't mind visiting other states, but I don't think I could permanently live elsewhere...
However, I'll say that nothing here is cheap... I can buy a 2 story brand new house out of state for what I'm paying for my little apartment. And I've seen gorgeous huge homes out of state going the same price as some crappy shack homes here.

CA has a few reptile laws, but nothing too unreasonable. Department Fish and Game states that you cannot import, transport, or possess any of the following unless you have a permit:
- Crocodiles, Caimans, Alligators, and Gavials
- Snapping Turtles
- Anything venomous (with exceptions to the following)

California:
Native Venomous: No permit required...possession limit is 2 of each species
Exotic Venomous: Permit required
Protected Native Venomous: None

And I believe you need a permit to own native caught herps. (But I'm sure tons of people don't really care if they have a permit or not to catch alligator lizards and such from their backyard...)

I hate how cold PA is, I can't wait to move out of state. There are plenty of other warmer states then the one you listed, do you want to be by the ocean?

Call me cynical, but in Junior High I'd be thinking more about where the college/trade school is I'm hoping to get into someday or the state I'd be more likely to get a job in instead of where I can move to have reptiles. Seriously, the job market still is not going to be recovered by then no matter what people think.

On the other hand, maybe it isn't so cynical a statement because my state leaves specific herp laws to the cities. We move 5 miles and they ban all "boas" according to the law. Move to the next city over and it is just all exotics, which they define as lions and elephants.
