Check what amp is for that circuit (should be labeled in your breaker box). Most houses have typical 15 or 20 amp circuits which give you an overload point of 1800 or 2400 watts. I have read that you should keep 20% below this max threshold but maybe someone can correct this if I'm mistaken.
Add up the watts of everything connected to all outlets connected to the circuit if you want to be sure that you are not going to overload it. My kitchen breaker flips every time the toaster and microwave are on at the same time yet we still forget every time.
