So, my Lesser, who we've nicknamed Princess (because he really, really is - picky little thing) has started to do something weird. I have no problem feeding him so long as it's live and it's been mice, up until now. I introduced him to weanling rats and instead of striking and eating them, he strangles them and leaves them. I don't know why - aside from maybe the fact that he doesn't know how to deal with a rat, maybe? But - how to get him to eat rats, if he will? He doesn't strike at all, just wraps his body around it. Anyone know what this is? Or how to fix it?
Thanks!
You can try and scent the rat but rubbing soiled mouse bedding on it. He will think its a mouse and do things normally. After a couple times he will get the hang of it.
