looking for advice
My 09 female ball is at 44 inches and weighed in at 2 lbs 3 oz does this seem about right. The problem I am having with her is she won't take rats at all. I have done the waiting game. Went on for two months and still wouldn't take a rat. Just want to make sure she is at a proper weight
Thanks
Christine

They all grow at their own rate, and a mouser (one that won't eat rats) will almost always grow slower. Yours is coming in just under 1000 grams (if I did my math right) which most people would consider under weight for an '09 female.
How many mice do you offer at each feeding? You can offer multiple mice to make up about 10-15% of her body weight at each feeding.

According to google, 2lb 3 oz is 992 grams so your math is right slim.
Have you tried scenting the rat with a mouse or mouse bedding to try and fool her?

[QUOTE=Christine;1801393]Maybe I am not reading this right. I weighed her in oz and grams and these are the readings I am getting. The first photo is in kg its saying 1. 014 kg. The second photo is in lbs 2.37

I have a 1000g male pastel that eats multiple mice, they will grow a little slower but it is nothing to worry about.

There's 16 ounces in a pound, not ten, so it's not 3 ounces, it's .37 pounds, a little over a third of a pound. 3 ounces is less than a quarter of a pound. Going by kg (which makes a much more accurate conversion), she's just over 1000 grams instead of under. She still seems a bit too skinny. Have you been keeping track of how much weight she's been losing while refusing rats?

She is not losing weight she is gaining. At the end of the 2 months fast she was 984grams then I started to feed her mice again. That was the beginning of march. I have tried feeding multiple mice but she just wants one extra large mouse a week. Its driving me nuts LOL
