New AP cages rack. Tubs discontinued.

I just bought a used AP cages 2220 rack tonight. It uses Rubbermaid model 2221. It is discontinued. The sterilite 28qt totes I got leave almost a half inch gap up top. Any idea which tote I could use?

Just a thought, tubs with lids on? Not sure how much extra room you need for lids.

I've thought about that but then it defeats part of the reason for getting the rack. I could have just stacked tubs with lids and saved money. Oh well, Hopi g to hear from AP today.

For our old but new to us one we decided to attach a layer of melamine to the inside top of the shelves. Since ours has heat cable, we could not just add it to the bottom of the shelf. We are using Sterilight tubs with ours, and they are a little taller leaving a little less gap. I also contemplated adding melamine up to the heat cable groove, but that would leave more air in between so not real sure about that yet. I will let you know how it goes. This is a weekend project for us.

That's actually what I thought about doing. Either that or just cardboard to make everything seal off good. My only worry is losing one of my snake due to them squeezing out of that he. I'm going to continue to look o line for more and of not, cardboard or wood it is

your best bet is too call animal plastics. they have a really bad habit of answering emails only when they can get to them. which can take a couple weeks.

Cardboard is not as sanitary as using melamine. We are attaching it to the inside top with silicone so that they will slide with ease. I hate using lids as well.
