    Is this egg bad? DUW

Hello all, finally making an account instead of lurking. This is my first season breeding balls and I have a question about on of my eggs in my first clutch.

When I separated all of the eggs from the mother she was being very protective and ended up rolling the eggs around. After reading on the forums about the controversy on whether turning the eggs would affect the offspring I candled them all and tried to put the denser spot (yolk?) on the bottom. Since then all of the eggs but one appear to be doing great. 5 of 6 have plumped up and the veins are forming more from what I can tell.

Number 6 tho seems different. After placing all of the eggs in the incubator it grew what looked like a wet spot.

This wet spot has grown and now the whole egg appears wet and sort of deflated (not nearly as plump as the others).

My question, will this egg turn out fine? It appears to have slightly more veinage than it did originally (from the get go this one had less veins than the others anyways) but isn't thriving nearly as well as the others.

(no clue why I could resize first pic but not this one)

I used an even mix by weight of vermiculite and water and the humidity and temps seem to be dead on (89 degrees according to the probe in the substrate).

Should I pull the egg up off the substrate to reduce some of the moisture? Going to be a few days before I can pick up some light diffuser.

    Thanks

Yup, hard to see in the last pic but there's veins on the bottom third or so of the egg, much smaller than the other eggs tho.

Just leave it. If its unviable it will shrivel and mold then you know for sure its no good. It isn't gonna hurt to incubate a dead egg for a little bit...

If its got veins, I'd say its still good, but that semi-transparent look makes it iffy, you'll know in a week or so if its really going bad but even then some people just leave the egg in the bator anyways despite how horrible it may look, and still wind up with a healthy baby. Good luck with it either way.

I was trying to search about the translucent look, but couldn't find anything definitive on what it was. Anyone else run into this? When I pulled the eggs they all looked the same the only difference was this one had less veinage when candled.

I'm afraid it looks like it's going bad. The veins will slowly break apart and fade away, that's why you can see veins right now. You may be able to bring it back, but it looks like it's dying to me. But leave it in, it's not going to hurt your other eggs. I would personally switch to substrateless in case that is the reason for the egg going bad.
