Upgrading thermostats

Thanks everyone for your input...I will be going with the Herpstat 4. I've recently bought new racks to replace my old ones, so I figured I may as well do the same with my t-stats.

Definitely herpstat 4 if you plan on keeping reptiles for a while its a great investment.

Herpstat 4 will be in sometime during the week, wish me luck figuring out how to use it...

I had an interesting discussion with the company I ordered it from, and figured that it's my best option. I was told, however, that Helix is working on a new thermostat that will supposedly be quite more advanced than the current top shelf options.

Out of thw ones you listed i would go with the herpstat. Me personally i like helixs. The ability to run one unit as 4 is a nice feature with the herpstat but if that unit fails then all 4 fail. I use 2 helix on each of my freedom breeders. 1 for each set of 5 in the stack. I like to know if i blow a fuse its only affecting one zone.

All 4 channels on the Herpstat 4 are fused seperatly

From the spyder robotics website:

Each output is fused separately keeping an outage on one output from affecting the other.

Still vulnerable to a complete failure but since everything is isolated the chances of that are pretty low.

Yes i know. Im not talking about the fuse blowing. Im talking about full unit failure. Not saying its common im just saying if it does it affects everything. Spyder products are very good products i just personally like helix. Ive used em for 10 years and its just preference.
