I would never play the lotto, winning 500 million is a curse. Lotto winner's lives always end up bad. They are sued by everyone, their families fall apart fighting over money, they become careless with their spending, not saving it or investing it wisely, they become depressed, they are constant targets for con artists.. many become alcoholics or addicted to drugs because of the extreme pressure they feel from everyone you ever knew (and people you don't know) hounding you for money..
If I won I would put half of it into a saving account, 1/4 of it would go to charity, and 1/4 would go to family. Then I would continue working my job. I'd just live in a really nice house with ridiculously expensive reptiles and reptile display rooms.
If you sit around doing nothing for the rest of your life you can loose a sense of self-worth, when you are constantly in pleasure mode on vacation 24/7 buying everything you want whenever you want you can become bored quickly, loose interest in things. All play and no work makes the play much less enjoyable.
