Temp/ Humidity gauges for Tub?
After dealing with the temp/ humidity issues for the last month , we have decided to go the tub route for Barry..
What gauges do you guys/ gals recommend for a tub? And what type of tape would you use for keeping the wire secure in the enclosure?

No tape in the enclosure ever.
Hot glue is what I use for my thermostat probes, but I just leave my thermometer probes lose (it's ok if they move around some)
In my PVC cages I screw the probes into the cage floor. I'm sure you could do the same in a tub.

This is the thermometer that you want. They cost $12 at Walmart and measure 2 temperatures and humidity all in one package.

Re: Temp/ Humidity gauges for Tub?
NEVER USE TAP in your enclosure I have seen to many my snake is stuck to tape threads to count. As for thermometers I use these and use a suction cup to keep the thermometer from getting moved and let the probe kinda float under the substrate and use a temp gun for more accurate measurements.
Dang Aaron let some else answer a question once in a while

For the thermostat probe, I currently have it between the UTH and the tank bottom..can u do the same for tubs?

Yes that is the best place for the thermostat probe

Would a 60 quart tub be too big you think?

IMO yes. Especially for a baby ball. But some people will disagree.

Say I'm using a thermostat that can control up to 3 heat sources, and say these are all the same UTH from Zoo med. Will I need a thermostat probe for each UTH or will just probing one and still hooking up the heaters all to the same thermostat and temperature be fine? I found a thermostat that can run up to 3 heaters but I only saw one probe on it. This is the thermostat http://www.bigappleherp.com/BAH-1000...=2&category=15

^ One probe should be fine if you're going to have all your tub's hotspots at the same temp. If you have three, maybe you should look into a rack setup with flexwatt and tubs? Might be a better setup if you already have three balls and plan to get more (space saver).

You can but it isn't the safest.
That thermostat is designed to control 1 heat source. It can be used with more than one but what happens if one of the heat mats without a probe mad functions? Either the UTH stops working or worse it gets so hot that it can start a fire.
If you are going to use 1 thermostat to control 3 UTH's they all need to be the exact same, the cages they are heating are set up the same and you need to keep an eye on it.
They do make thermostats that have multiple probes
Such as the Herpstat 2, Herpstat 4, and VE-300 x2
