Substrate
I've heard people say that they use Cypress Mulch or that it is a good substrate for ball pythons, and I was just wondering does anyone else have opinions on a good substrate?

I believe this is the mulch they are talking about but I am not 100% sure.

i used cypress then went to newspaper and now im using sani chips. the cypress mulch worked really well for humidity but i personally didnt love the look of it and there was some pieces of mulch that were really sharp. also there was alot of dust in it. the newspaper was definetly the easiest but it was lame looking. i have had the sani chips for about a week now and really like them! the only negative that i have found so far is that they seem to get all over the floor any time i open a tub lol.

Re: Substrate
If you don't mind me asking, how so the sanichips do with humidity? I have tubs so it probably wouldn't be a problem but I am very curious.

Aspen, cypress, Eco-earth, newspaper, butchers paper, paper towels, corrugated wrap, and specialty cage liners are all good choices. I prefer to use paper based substrates as they are the easiest to keep clean and maintain.

Once I switched to paper towels, I never looked back. I've used it all and paper towels is what i prefer. Everyone has their own needs and preferences when it comes to husbandry, so my advice would be to try everything for a month at a time until you decide which one you like the best.
