    ball python feeding

    ok well im trying to get my bp to eat ft and im feeding him right now weanling rats and would switching him over to mice change anything cause the guy i got her from said that he eats ft mice so would offering a rat make him not eat.

    it is very possible. some BP's won't eat rats, some take time to switch from mice to rats, and some deadly switch over to rats from mice all depends on the individual snake. Are you sure the weanling you are offering is warm enough? they need to be 100 degrees.

    Has he eaten any rats for you? If not, you wouldn't be switching him over to mice, just feeding it what its previous owner was feeding it....so yes, that could be where you are having difficulties.

    he's never eaten for me and the rats are prob around 100 degrees. his tank is perfect goes to 90-93 degrees and all my other bps eat f/t ill try again in a week but if he still refuses ill have to breed some rats lol
