Rosy Boas

The author of the snake keeping book I have swears by rosy boas as great pets. I haven't heard anything about them before. Does anyone here have experience with them?
They're interesting looking snakes - kind of remind me of fish. =P

I've never owned one, but from talking to others, it seems that they are one of the most docile, lowest maintenance snakes in existence.

I bred them for a few years and yes they are fantastic pets. Very easy to care for and super docile. Got a few morphs now for them and tones of locality color phases. Check out localityrosys.com They are serious about keeping localities pure and at times can be very outspoken but they will have all the answers regarding these beautiful boas.

I have a Rosy, and have had another one before. I love them. My only complain is that they seem to regurgitate more easily than my ball pythons. But out side of that fact I love them. They are sweet little snake. And are pretty easy to care for.

I own and currently breed them. As stated before, they are the most docile and low maintenance snake I've owned to date. As a matter of fact, anyone ever asking me about buying their first snake I advise to purchase a Rosy.

ya I am going to break ranks here I dont like them and I have owned them. Very easy to care for but some reason some seem to just not be right in the head. Had a female that was great for 2 years and then seemed to change personality really quick. No change in her housing. When we would hang out she woud turn her head around slow as anything and NOT get in a strike mode, just put her nose up to my wrist and open her mouth and chew on me. ALL THE TIME tried changing perfumes tried not using any, changed body wash tried everything. Contacted some forums just for Rosy's and got a lot of people saying ya it had happened to them as well. sold her to a breeder since she was a morph. Her breeder said that some of the females just went off when they hit sexual maturity so if you get one I would stick to a boy

I'm new to the whole snake thing but my teacher gave me one that he couldn't care for anymore and it's a great starter. He does good with handling and hasn't tried biting the 20 something people that have held him, most were little kids that had never held a snake before.
