I have zero interest in the larger snakes and have zero worries that this will work its way down to ball pythons.

Many Jews in Poland said the same thing when the Jews in Germany were rounded up...They were just as myopic then as you are now. This is not just an issue of banning reptiles or certain species of reptiles. It's about taking away your rights. The easiest rights to take away are the ones you don't want.
