    55g tank heating issues

hey guys new to the site and new caring for ball pythons. I rescued a 3 yr old ball python from a less than perfect situation. Got it checked out, no health issues and transitioned to frozen/thawed pretty flawlessly. been about a month and i recently got a 55g long tank and im having heating issues. i have a appropriate sized uth, and a 75w red light on top...bottom heat is fine but ambient heat is low. would switching to a ceramic 150w be a helpful thing to do?
    preciate any help ty

Try insulating the back and 2 sides with foam board, and foil and tape the screen top http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...tment-Tutorial or you can plexi the top too I can't remember where that forum is but there's a how to for that also, your best bet is to invest in pvc or use a tub for now I couldn't imagine it being very easy to maintain ambient temps in a tank that big

Raise the room temps would obviously help also if that's possible

Is your UTH is on a thermostat?

I would use a higher wattage infrared bulb before going to ceramic heat emitters. What are you using to measure temperatures?
