Are you feeding live or F/T. What are the complete details of your enclosure set up. What are your temps and how do you measure them. What do you use for heat. How much do these snakes weigh now.

Are you regulating the heat tape with a thermostat? Is this heat tape providing back or belly heat? If it's back heat, 90 degrees on the tape is probably not going to give you 87-89 in the tub. What do you use to measure temps in the tubs?

yes i do i have a hemostat ..the tubs are on belly heat and sit on the heat tape

i just look at the thermometer that is on the heat tape and it says 90 ..so the tubs should be around 87-89 right

I assume you mean thermostat. Where does the probe for the thermostat sit? It should be on the heat tape.

There is no way to know what the temp is unless you measure it inside the tub. I run my belly heat at 102 degrees to reach a hot spot in the tub of 90 degrees.

90 degrees is a good hot spot temp for all ball pythons. Problem is, there's no way to know what your hot spot is unless you can measure it inside the tub.

You didn't answer my question about where your thermostat probe is located. Is it on the heat tape along with your thermometer probe?

    This is a hemostat:

Do you mean reostat, like a dimmer switch?

So you now have something to measure both the heat tape and the inside of the tub?
