I think it would depend on your specific amount of experience and comfort. Bloods may not be very long but they are heavy hitters and can be extremely insecure. You need to have the patience to read your animal because they do stress easily. I have a good friend of mine who keeps bloods and he is incredible with them but even after 25 years of working with bloods he still has to be on his toes.

I think if you're ready for the challenge go for a blood. I do not yet have one in my care but I plan on it.

My ultimate .02 would be to find someone local to you and work with some Bloods to get the feel for this incredibly rewarding creature
Yeah I have been keeping snakes and other reptiles for close to 20 years, so the comfort is there. Now I'm just on the hunt for a good quality blood.
