In the hundreds (maybe thousands by now) of ball pythons I've dealt with through the stores over the last few years, I have never noticed a difference in temperament between the two genders.

Most are mellow and sweet, a handful would rather not be messed with, and a select few are downright cranky. Gender doesn't seem to play into it, just the personality of individual snakes, as previous posters have said.
