Long Time For Locking...?
So my BP's have been locked for a little over 36 hours, a little over because i don't know how long they were before i noticed them..., and i'm just wondering if that is okay for them to lock for that long? When they do separate, how long should they rest before i put them back together, or do they need to be put back together because the first time they locked for 27 hours?

Yep thats fine, they will lock for long periods of time sometimes. My fire male would often go over 48 hours. I would give him some time off after. I only put my males in every couple of weeks or so for 4-5 days then out again for a couple weeks, its all they need. Good luck, hope u get some eggies.

I pair for 3 days at a time or until they separate. After a successful lock, my female gets at least a week off before the other male goes in. I'm rotating two males in with her, so they get a total of about 6 days a month each.
Just like in human reproduction, one lock is all it takes, but it's all about timing. If you've witnessed locks but the female hasn't developed follicles or ovulated, it probably hasn't gotten the job done. This is my first year breeding, but I've been told to keep pairing them until they stop locking.
