To Pair or Not To Pair?
Ok so my male spider just ate yesterday afternoon and of course tonight we have a monster storm rolling in. I've always followed the rule of not pairing until 2 days after feeding but I really don't want to miss this storm. My female lesser refused food yesterday so she should be ok but do you guys think it will be ok to put my spider with her? I'd put my male lesser with her seeing as he refused yesterday too but he hasn't eaten in quite some time and I'd rather not pair him up again until he takes a meal. Thanks in advance for your opinions

Re: To Pair or Not To Pair?
I feed my male smaller meals during breeding season, so I've paired 24 hours later pretty often. I think you're okay as long as he doesn't have a noticeable lump in him, and you supervise for a few minutes to make sure she isn't rough with him.
Edit: If your lesser isn't undersized or losing weight, there isn't any reason you can't throw him in there instead.

He's lost about 50-60 grams since he stopped eating about 2 1/2 - 3 months ago. I know that it's not too terribly uncommon, I just worry about him, and my spider is still eating pretty regularly.

How much does your lesser weigh now? I ask because 50-60g is something to be concerned about if he's only 400g, but not if he's 1100g. I certainly won't fault you for erring on the side of caution, though.

Ya I guess I should have clarified that lol. Before he went on his hunger strike, he was ~1020 grams, He's at 960 grams now.
