I disagree ... as long as your ball python is healthy and feeding aggressively, there is no reason why you couldn't handle him/her more often. Just look for signs of stress and if a meal is skipped, lay off of the handling until things get back to normal.
Every snake & keeper & routine is different and I don't think there is one blanket rule with any aspect of husbandry that works for everyone. It's important to figure out on your own through trial and error what works best for you and your snake.
