What is the greatest amount of gap for an adult female rack that most of you would be comfortable with? We built a melamine rack today using ARS Tubs and, unlike the last two racks I made, this time I had a heck of a time with proper spacing because the Tubs bubble out (down) on one end, and bubble in (up) at the other end. Essentially the bottom is not flat, and instead of compressing it while fastening shelves (which resulted in a tight fit when they naturally expanded) I let them sit in their naturally bumpy way and I have a quarter inch gap on one end and about one-eighth inch gap at the other end.
Does anyone think (or have first-hand experience) with this large of a gap for an adult female rack? I'm just trying to decide if I need to modify it or look into getting different Tubs,I chose these because I wanted the gray color for my breeder females and I walk by that area a lot. My main concern would be an injury from trying to jam a snout in there. What do you think?
