    Pissy Snake

So my new Pastel female is always really mad. She was sold to me by the owner with "a good disposition" but i am starting to not believe him. If i even open her tub she hisses. Temps are good, 92 warm side, 87 cool side. She has been in her tub for over two weeks, i have not taken her out at all, only checked on her to make sure she was alright.

Any suggestions on what i can do to ease her stress, or whatever it is she is experiencing? Is this just acclimation or can yall think of something i could be doing wrong?

Hissing is not a sign of "being mad". Even my friendliest snakes hiss at me sometimes when I open up their tubs....

When you start seeing a tooth torpedo every time you walk by the tub (like my male yb) then you can start asking this lol.

Frequent handling for short periods of time are better than infrequent handling for longer periods. Give it time and keep working with her. Both of you need to get comfortable with each other. Try handling her for 10 minutes at a time. Good luck!

Also your temps look a little high. I'd go 90 on warm side and around 80 on cool.

    She's not mad, she's afraid.

Even my sweetest balls will hiss sometimes, usually if a startle them or they are in blue and cranky.

Be patient with her, give her time to adjust to her new surroundings and to you. Everything is different to her, and it make her insecure. Gentle occasional handling sessions, for a few minutes at a time will help her to realize you aren't going to hurt her. Go slowly and give her time, and she'll come around.

Your cool side is about 7 degrees too warm. Being hot all the time would tick me off also.
