That's cool that he ate "in shed." f/t? Just curious. Some ppl say don't feed while in shed. IMO, I think if it's f/t and he/she is willing to eat I don't see a problem. Everyone will have their opinion on this so I'll shut up now.

I have found that most people here on BP.net seem to agree that there is no harm in at least offering a shedding snake a meal. worst case he/she simply refuses to eat it.
Even if it is live just keep a closer eye on it, it's not like they mainly use their eyes to detect rodents anyway.
He lost his eye caps and head skin lastnight so sight wasn't an issue. So I offered I figured if he ate it thats good if not ok, I had to feed my Lesser anyways.
