There both females in a 75 gallon tank, a few months old, theyve been together ever since they were tiny, i have like 5 hides, and a little basking spot.. no heat rocks.. i have a heat pad by the waterfall.. well more towards under the waterfall.. and the exo terra fogger warms up the waterfall its odd.. but theyre all on the humid spot of the tank the left side measures between 75 and 80 (the humid spot) and the other spot measures around 87 to 90 turns out it was the waterfall hissing at me lol... pump got moved somehow... x]


and yeah the C: thing is some new trend being passed around for the past 2 years i never liked it cause it looks oblivious but hey might as well join the train haha

You definately need to get your snakes in their own enclosures! The care sheet that was posted here has all the information you need.

Here's my general answer for questions like this...which are sadly common.
Cohabitating reptiles even as the same species is not recommended. Insead of just telling you "no" I'll list the common reasons why.
1) Cannibalism, not common, but there are DOCUMENTED cases. This alone isn't worth the risk.
2) Stress. Even the most friendly snakes get stressed out, so why cause the stress? Snakes have no want or need to be with another snake unless it's for breeding purposes. Other than that, it's just an unwanted roommate that they can't get away from.
3) Space. They will constantly try to dominate eachother for the best spots in the enclosure, even if you have multiple hides, you'll mainly see them together in one spot. People usually see this as "cuddling". It's not cuddling, they are fighting over the best spot.
4) You wake up in the morning after feeding and there's a regurgitated mouse. Which one did it?
5) One gets sick, now both are sick. That's 2X the vet bills, 2X the medications, and 2X the stress.
6) You are told the new snake you bought is the same sex as the one you already have. a year later, you find eggs in the enclosure. You have not prepared, no incubator, no space for babies, and no one to sell them to. What do you do now? The pet store/vet/person sexed them wrong.
7) Quarantine. How are you going to quarantine the new snake away from your original one? As you gain more experience, you'll find that quarantine is a NECESSITY. You could get a perfectly healthy snake, or one covered in mite eggs that hatch 3 days after you bring it home. Now both snakes have mites. Snakes also can take a long time to start showing symptoms of illness, now you got your original snake sick because you didn't quarantine.

Those are just the more known and common issues with housing multiple reptiles. The list goes on. The only pro to housing them together is to save space in your house by only having one enclosure, but is it worth it? That is up to you.

I do have 2 more questions:

1. Does your heating pad have a thermostat?

2. what are you using to measure temperatures/humidity?

as of now just little wall gauges imgonna be getting a digital thermostat and humidity reader tonight though, and as for the seperate cage thing i've heard some people have hadsome luck but only if theyvebeen together for a long time.. i wanted to give it a shot, if things go bad mabye ill put a devider in the tank.

you mean thermometer right? (thermostat doesn't = thermometer one regulates temperatures the other just reads them)

You can get this thermometer from walmart for $12, they read 2 temperatures and humidity. (You need a thermometer with a probe since Heating pads do not affect air temperature)



So is your heating pad on a thermostat? If it isn't, I highly advise against getting a thermostat from a pet store as they really aren't that good and have a tendency to stop working. I can recommend some good ones if you want

You are confusing a thermometer with a thermostat. The difference is one reads temps and one controls temps. Here is what you risk by not having a thermostat and not knowing what the temps are in the enclosure.

yeah i meant thermometer, i get confused lol, the walmart one ill try to find is there any at petsmart like that? my walmart and petsmart are like right next to eachother xD

Pet stores don't carry thermostats, especially Petco/Petsmart

Amazon.com sells a Hydrofarm thermostat for $30 shipped. That's pretty much the cheapest reliable thermostat you'll find.
