    Glue guns and probes

Does anyone have any advice for using glue guns to hold thermostat or thermometer probes in place (besides don't get it on the probe itself, except maybe the tiniest bit to hold a probe in place?)

I'd be a little concerned about damaging the wires with the heat. Is this a valid concern? Should I be using the lower temperature setting on the gun?
