Vision makes really sturdy CB-70 replacement tubs, too, which is what I use in my CB-70 rack. I prefer CB-70s for my largest females (over 3000 grams).

i was planning on using heat tape on the bottom of one end.

    Use a thermostat.

If he's building a rack for his tubs, I'd assume he'd be using heat tape or heat cable, which whether it's belly or back heat, absolutely does raise air temperature. Same applies with a UTH...if you apply something that is designed to heat, the heat is not going to just stop at ground level. How much the air temperature is affected depends on a variety of things, from type of enclosure, size of enclosure, type/amount of substrate used, ambient room temps, etc...

I just picked up my Vision CB-70 rack today and will be moving females over to it after they start laying...definitely a nice rack.

i will definitely get a thermostat for the rack. As long as the thermostat is keeping the tubs at a constant temperature, do i not need to worry about it overheating then?

To be perfectly honest i use 41qts for my snakes, no matter their size, and they do fine. I just built a rack and designed it for 41qts. It will hold 7 tubs. Its the perfect size for my room and will fit anysize bp basically. My juvenile cinny is only 300grams but he does fine in it. I have 3 hides in it and crumbled up newspaper and hes never missed a meal.
With that said once i have my own place and have more room (and more snakes lol) ill definetly have seperate appropriately sized racks for males and females. But for the time being i know i wont get more than 7 so it works perfectly for me.
    1.0 normal bp
