If you go the T route, just make sure to do some research on the exact kind you want, some need more exact husbandry than others, and also think about aggression, whether or not it can kick hairs, and venom strength since ALL tarantulas are venomous.

i love the point you made! most people do not think of it like that, haha i know i would not. Once i get money i go out and get another snake but the money saved right now is also useful for if you need some new equipment for other animals of yours.
