getting worried... please explain
hey all.... my bp has been acting normal for the most part. he is eating fine and acting fine. but recently its been a little colder out side so i would expect him to be in his hot side hide... this is not the case. he has been in his cool side hide for days at a time. he will go into the hot side for only a few minutes and then he goes right back to the cool side. the hot side is set at 91.5 and being controled by a herpstat.... every time he does go into the hot side he pushes all the substrate away and sits directly on the glass...... any one know what the heck is going on. should i be worried....

As long as your temps are good, they tend to thermoregulate as they need to. Are both of your hides the same? What's your temp on the cold side? What are you using to mesure the temps?

same exact hide being used... bought them at reptilebasics. same size and everything. temps are checked by herpstat and a temp gun. Also he tends to pee/poop in his hides and then he wont go in that specific one... (i dont blame him) but i check his hides every day and they are both clean.... when i hold him he seems cold to my body temp..... IDK

They always seem cold to me when I pick them up, but then again, we run right around 98.6 degrees core time and about 90-95 degrees surface temp, depending on the individual. Even if we pick them up off a hot spot of 90 degrees they'll most likely feel cool to the touch.
Has he shed recently? Sometimes they do wierd stuff when going into shed.

My snakes are usually always on the cool side of their tubs. The only time I really see them on the warm side is right after eating a meal. As long as your temps are not to hot and the snake is eating, urinating, and defecating, then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

So long as your cool side is about 80F, no worries.
