Automatic Door closer, this may help some people.

I have an automatic door closer on the room my snake is in. It's not one of those big bolt on types. It's just an adjustable spring loaded type that you just replace one of your door hinge pins with.
The reason I'm posting this is to help people that have snakes that escape from time to time (Like Mine !!!) keep it contained. Whats so great about is if it does escape you know its in the room somewhere... The best part about it is peace of mind, yeah your snake may be out of its cage but you know its somewhere in the room.
I'll try to post a link from ebay. someone with a little more skill can upload the pick if they want to..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACE-ADJUSTAB...#ht_1160wt_754

Anyways I bought 2 for like 10 dollars quite a while back and its been one of the best 10 dollars i have ever spent.
One more thing, mine is not strong enough to make the door latch but its closed enough to where the snake can't get out of the room...

Robin, snakes tend to go under closed doors.

You could get one of those rubber guards to go along the bottom of the door. Theyre designed to hold in heat so youd be killing 2 birds with one stone...

I use the As-Seen-On-TV "Twin Draft Guards" on all rooms where I have the vents closed due to underuse or room heaters, and love them.

Soooooo true, the only time my pin has escaped, she passed under 2 closed doors, and the gap was no bigger than 1/2' (she was ok).

I love my twin draft guard. I LOVE IT. It helps a little with holding in heat, but man, escaped rodents were my main issue, and it has never failed me with keeping escaped rodents in the room.

Ok lol I said "it may help some people" but the idea does not have to just apply to bps. any one with a pet that they would at least like to keep contained in a room (if it escapes it's cage) can benefit.
I really do like the idea of the draft guard thingy. Maybe we should promote both of them together : automatic door closer and draft guard and or pet guard ; )
It's one thing to know your snake is loose in a room. It's a whole other feeling when it can be anywhere in the house.

Very true! I might actually look into a door closer to reduce the occurrences of my cat trying to come in and "help" me clean tubs!
