I posses the proper skills to survive in the wilderness without any equipment. The ammo is not for hunting and probably not for "pirates" either (although I would be happy to practice my shooting skills on some). Guns and ammo are what make us independent, without them we would be an expendable and controllable appendage of the government. Please take a look in history, every powerful dictators first move was to take the ability for civilians to defend themselves. Its not paranoid, its not my only thought, its being prepared. And it also my hobby, I find true enjoyment in guns and shooting so its a win win.
