Not trying to be rude here but I don't see why everyone always complains about tanks. I live in Iowa where it isn't very humid at all and I have used two tanks quite successfully. I have never had a problem with humidity or temps at all. The only reason I would want to do tubs is for portability. It is a pain to move my tanks all the time.

Tubs are incredible lol plus I got mine for 4$ from target. Can't beat that. I'd rather have a comfortable snake in a tub than a stressed out one in a tank. no doubt.

I have used tanks, tubs, and PVC cages and tanks are by far the worst. I spent easily twice as much time trying to keep the humidity and temperatures correct when I used tanks vs tubs/PVC cages. I even live in a place where the humidity inside my apartment never drops below 50%.

My BP has never had any problems being in a tank. Always had complete sheds, and has never missed a meal. However, when she is full grown I will probably switch to a tub just because I really don't want to deal with a 40 gal breeder. Im also getting a JCP at Tinley and when it is big enough that will probably be my "display" snake so i will have it in a tank. But I agree, tubs seem like they would be convenient. Also, quick question, what size tub should an adult female be kept in?

Thats really weird... I would figure in florida it would be super easy. All I have is the screen for my tank covered in aluminum tape and i cut holes in it for ventilation and it stays at 60% consistently.

This must be a magic thread I posted. Since I posted it my humidity has dropped to 59%, hahah it's a miracle!

Re: Humidity is too high in my tub
Check out vyprz sticky on tub set up. Really glad I did or I may have made too many holes to begin with. Def more holes should help. If ever need be you can tape them up (So long as they are small). Hopefully that and smaller water dish will help.

Totally. Initially I thought I would hate to have them in tubs tucked away. But the switch to tubs has been wonderful. Much easier to control climate and snakes totally love it, plus takes up a whole lot less space.
