Waiting 25-48 hours to hold snake..?

I do the 24-48 hour rule after feeding before I hold my python. I'm just curious as to why you have to wait that long?

It's to let them fully digest, and pevent them from spitting up heir meal.

Ball Pythons have a relatively slow metabolism. It takes them a while to digest their prey.

When you consider that your BP is able to turn hair, teeth, eyeballs, and bones into a food source, it's a wonder they can do in just 48ish hours.

Not handling them during that time allows them to thermoregulate as needed and digest in peace.

I feed my guy in a separate tub, But after he eats and moves the prey all the way down, I carefully move him back I leave him alone until he decides it is time to come out !

I accidentally let a baby pastel's tub fall off of a table a few weeks ago and she regurged shortly after, ~2 days after eating.

It's basically so there's no chance they will regugitate there meal. But, (for me) I've held my bp's,anacondas and retic the next day after a feeding. Nothing's ever happen I'm just super careful with there bellies. I usually wait thou because there not really active then.
