Not sure if this would give you any comfort at all, but 8 months after my female escaped, she showed him on the floor of my laundry room (not far from the boiler). The survived an entire winter!
They could literally be anywhere, but knowing BPs look in every dark spot you can think of, starting with warmest areas first.
I'd also look alot at night, as this is when he'd be most active
