I picked them up today from my fiancé's coworker today.

They need a bigger enclosure I think... The tank is 10 by 10 by 17 tall.

This is the female, does she look under weight? Also she has a little bit of an under bite that the breeder told the previous owner she was born with and not to breed her. Her calcium sacs look good.


This is the male, he seems to be a little beefier.

Sorry for the not so great pictures, I just snapped them real fast with my phone while I gave them a quick once over before I put them away so I wouldn't stress them more then needed.

That cage is definitely a bit small for two cresties. Do you know what the previous owner was feeding the geckos? The first looks skinny to me, the second looks good, probably because it is the dominant one. Crested geckos are a very hardy species, with the proper care from here on out they should live a long healthy life. Congrats on the new additions!

Waaay too small of a cage for a pair of adult geckos.

The female is probably underweight from being housed with a male constantly and not being given a break from breeding, or maybe they were housed together since they were young and she became gravid and started laying eggs too young. And as stated the male could also have been dominating or bullying her, especially in that tiny tank. Either way they should be separated and should stay separated. Not too cool of the fiance's coworker to house them together in the first place, being that they were told by the breeder not to breed the female due to her underbite. They probably got a pet quality gecko price because of the underbite but put her with a male anyhow. But anyways, I'm glad that you have them and can take proper care of them now.

Yeah that's my fiancé's shirt lol!

It looks like she was feeding them this fluker crested gecko food that looks like micro sized cat food... I cleaned out thier bowl for one and used a little dish I had for the other and gave them some fresh repashy. I have them separate and tomorrow I'm going to go get appropriate sized tanks for them.

They sure are cute little things =P

Very cute! I do think the female looks a little skinny, and the tank does sound small for two cresties.

I have thought about getting into cresties, as they are so cute and super hardy and easy to care for. Nice pick up!

If you want to do a couple simple, cheap, and fast enclosures I'd recommend making some tubs in a similar fashion as shown in the stickies for the Rhacodactylus section. They may not be the prettiest setups, but they are incredibly cost effective and make providing the proper environment easy.

I'm glad they are now getting better care, post some pics of your new setups when you get them.
