Things We Can't Explain
Have you ever had any unexplainable things happen? A survey conducted in 2006 by researchers from Australia's Monash University was done to determine what types of phenomena people claim to have experienced, and the effects these experiences have had on them. Over 2,000 respondents from around the world participated. The results revealed that around 70% of the respondents believe they have had at least one unexplained paranormal event. Many reported that the event had an impact on their life, mostly in a positive way. I used to be very skeptical about this kind of thing, but have learned to be more open to things I don't know. With age comes wisdom, maybe, or at least a willingness to listen and learn. What experiences have you had?

Answer:
More people need to come to terms with the fact that they are at least a little bit crazy sometimes. I know I have.

Most everything in life is unexplained--at least, if you want a factual explanation. Most of what we think we know will be proven wrong in the next 100 years or so....that's how it's always been, and there's no reason to believe it will change.
As for the paranormal, for me it's just the normal.

I spent 23 years in the military...a certain portion of that time I was getting shot at. I've seen a lot of things I can't explain, but I've made peace with it, and those unexplainable things don't keep me up at night anymore.

Re: Things We Can't Explain
many years ago when I was a young man I worked as a night watchman at a fancy prep school. the place was totally deserted at night . I spent a good deal of time by myself prowling around the campus. this place is about 125 years old . There was constantly people talking about how haunted it was. I use to hear all kinds of weird stuff at 2 or 3. in the morning . do I think they were ghosts . no I never saw 1 . all I know is your mind can play tricks on you . if a person gets in a creepy situation you can imagine all kinds of stuff. but this doesn't mean I don't believe in the paranormal. I am undecided. I would love to believe in ghosts but I can't .it would be kind of nice to know there was something else. I was very close to my dad and when he passed away I sure wanted to believe but I guess I will never know......or will we?

Re: Things We Can't Explain
When I was younger and knew everything, I used to think that people who reported "weird" occurrences were just imagining them, or were seeking attention, uneducated, just plain crazy, or whatever other fill-in-the-blank reason I had for not believing them. I have to admit, though, I've had one or two strange things happen that I could never explain. I've also had friends that I consider very rational and highly educated, who had stories of their own. I think there's quite a bit we don't know about the world around us. I admit I've been guilty of being "slightly judgemental" in the past. Now that I'm older and know how much I don't know, I'm not so quick to dismiss anything I don't understand as "nonsense".

Care to share the one or two things that happened?
I like to think paranormal hooplah takes place around me but shows like ghost hunters and bigfoot hunters just make me shake my head lol. Ive personally never had anything happen to me that i would classify as paranormal, but i dont necesarily not believe in any of them.

It is my opinion that everything has an explanation. We just don't know it all yet.
I mean, look at gravity. . . we can't even explain that yet.
